Billy K Willis passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Willis; his three children, Michelle Choate, Justin Willis, and David Willis; his sister, Wanda Long; his brother Dale Willis, Sr; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, B.J., Junior, Kaisey, Bailey, Makenzie, Abby, Emma, Haven, Lando, and Lawson.
Billy was born in Longview, Washington, to Bill and Dorothy Willis and lived a great many places before settling in Van Horn, TX, around 1977. In Van Horn, Billy finished raising a family and worked as a truck driver, small business owner, grandpa, and pawpaw. He loved his family, being a grandpa, fixing broken things, and adding his touch to things he thought could work better. Billy never met a stranger, missed the chance to tell a yarn, and never left home without a hat. He took great delight in providing toys or walking-around money for his grandkids and great-grandkids, much to the chagrin of their parents.
People who knew him would talk about his warmth, selflessness, and sense of humor. He was, at times, a rebel and a man of faith. A father and a fighter. A teacher and a friend. He was stubborn and kind. Fierce and faithful. Tireless and funny. His surviving family and friends will miss his kind heart and generosity.
