Celia Carrillo Mendosa, 99, of Odessa, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.

Celia was born on April 17, 1926, in Valentine, Texas, to Fidela and Alvino Carrillo. She was devoted and beloved wife to her late husband, Roberto B. Mendosa. Together, they shared countless miles on the open road, delivering vehicles and creating memories along the way, though Celia always held a special love for being home with family and friends.

She was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Celia will be remembered for her generous spirit, joyful smile, and infectious laughter, which filled the hearts of all who knew her. She especially loved caring for her two poodles, Maggie and Kristi, and never passed up the chance to savor red cheese enchiladas, fideos, and tamales.

Celia is survived by her daughter, Linda V. Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; her brother, Danny Carrillo and wife Josie of Anna, Texas; eight grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; and one great, great, great grandson as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roberto B. Mendosa; her parents, Fidela, and Alvino Carrillo; brothers, Miguel Carrillo, and Richard Carrillo; sister, Veva Nunez; daughter, Gloria Valdez; son, Manuel Valdez; and grandson, Ralph Garcia Jr.

Celia’s legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched.

A viewing will be held on Thursday September the 25TH at Heritage Funeral Home starting at 2 pm and ending at 9pm with a service at 7pm. The funeral service officiated by Brother Oscar Borrego will be Friday morning at 10 am. also at Heritage Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery.

Pallbearers serving will be: Victor “Woody” Nunez, Rafael Rodriguez, Isaiah Rodriguez, Rudy Aaron Estrada, Rudy Valdez, and Rafael Rodriguez III.

Honorary Pallbearers: Eddie “ Punk” Nunez and Victor Roman Valdez.
