On April 28, 2023, Faustina Sanchez Flores passed away peacefully at the age of 75 after fighting a good fight, finishing her race, and keeping the faith through her very last breath.
Faustina was born on January 4, 1948, to Julio Sanchez and Francisca Vejar Sanchez.
In September 1969, Faustina married Raul B Flores and went on to have four children. She was a proud mother of a son, Raul Flores Jr. and three daughters Angie Flores, Cuca Flores, and Lisa Flores.
Her career was focused on childcare and retired as a Director of Rainbow Express Depot Day Care in Van Horn.
She was a devout Catholic wife and mother. She was an RCIA Instructor, a communion minister, a Crusillista, and a proud Guadalupana. Her faith was strong, and her heart and kindness were reflected throughout the community. Her daily acts were her devotion of praying the rosary to the Virgen Mary.
Those left behind to cherish Faustina’s memories are her husband Raul, Her children Raul Jr., Angie, Cuca, Lisa, her seven grandchildren, Raul, Zackary, Sebastian, Justin, Alexis, Sofie, Renee her brother Lolo Sanchez, sisters, Pola Montoya, Gavina Payan and Lupe Tarango. She will be missed by many friends and family.
Faustina was preceded in death by her parents, several sisters, and brothers.
A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday May 4, 2023, at 10:00 am -4:00 pm. The Holy Rosary will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church also on May 4, 2023, at 7:00 pm. – 8:30 pm. The Funeral mass will be on Friday May 5th at 11: 00 am. Officiating will be Father Frank Hernandez. The burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving will be Raul D. Flores, Zackary Franco, Sebastian Ellsworth, Justin Griffith, Robert Carrasco, Armando Payan, Eddie Montoya and Harvey Sanchez.
The funeral services were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas
