Felipe Castillo, age 80, passed away August 18, 2023. He was born August 25, 1942, in San Antonio Del Bravo Chihuahua, Chih., Mexico to Livradro and Cruz Castillo. He spent most of his life as a resident of Valentine, Texas and in recent years in Fort Stockton, Texas. He was man of faith and an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish. His talents were many. He was an industrious worker and an amazing cowboy. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He never met a stranger and loved everyone immensely. He enjoyed being around family, friends, horses, dancing and singing songs he could give a “grito” to.
Those left behind to cherish Felipe’s memories are the love of his life of 57 years, Lucita Castillo; son, Felipe Castillo Jr., three grandchildren, Arianna, Phillip, and Dylan Castillo.
He is preceded in death by his parents Livrado and Cruz Castillo, four Brothers, three and sisters.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday August 25, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Van Horn Father Frank Hernandez will be officiating. The burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are Juan Flores Sr., Juan Flores Jr., Adan Flores, Javier Castillo, Jiame Castillo, Emilio Tarango, Eddie Vallejo, and Pepe Baeza.
Funeral arrangements are in care of Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn.
