Obituary

Ramon Vejar Sanchez, Sr., 82, left this world peacefully on June 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in Caldwell, Tx. Ramon was born on March 22, 1944, in Pilares, Mexico, the son of Julio Galindo Sanchez and Francisca Quintana Vejar. A loving husband to Maria Urias Sanchez, Ramon was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Together, they raised 5 children: Joel, Sylvia, Norma, Ramon Jr., and Hilda. He cherished family gatherings, and his presence at holidays and celebrations brought warmth, joy and laughter to those around him.

Ramon was a skilled mechanic and had many passions in life, including the outdoors, working cattle, and crafting, whose creations were often gifts to his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He was known for always lending a helping hand; whose door was open to anyone and had a passion for sharing his knowledge.

Ramon is preceded in death by his parents Julio and Francisco Sanchez, granddaughter Jennifer Hernandez, brothers Benino, Jose, Jesus, Juan, Simon, Luis; sister Maria, Julia, Viviana, Pola, Faustina; and daughter-in-law Araceli Sanchez. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Maria Sanchez, his children Joel and wife Elvira Sanchez, Silva and husband Raymond Jurica, Norma and partner Daniel Rivera, Ramon Jr. Sanchez, and Hilda and husband Leonel Chavez. He was blessed with 11 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. He is also survived by his siblings Dolores and wife Luz Sanchez, Gavina and husband Jose Payan, Lupe and husband Hector Tarango, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly. Rest in peace, dear father, Tata, and Tio. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 16 at Heritage Funeral Home from 1-5pm, followed by a Rosary at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church from 7-8:30pm. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Father Sergio Legarreta on Wednesday, June 17 at 10am. Burial will follow at Van Horn Cemetery.
