Ruben M. Hinojos

Ruben M. Hinojos Sr., peacefully departed this life at age 82 on December 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on June 29, 1943, to Manuel and Severa Hinojos in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.

In life, Ruben not only loved working on cars he loved his children and grandchildren. Ruben liked to cruise around town every day. He enjoyed watching television, his favorite show was Ridiculousness, car shows of all types were another favorite. He was hard working, family-oriented, funny, a jokester, and loved to dance. He was a teacher, mentor of the auto body trade. At an early age Ruben opened an auto body shop where he followed his passion in auto body work. His shop was called Ruben’s Body Shop. 

He is survived by his children: Ruben Hinojos Jr., Maricela Zamora, Rodolfo Hinojos and his wife Brenda, Leticia Mendoza, and her husband Gabriel. One sister, Maria Del Carmen Hinojos. Eleven grandchildren: Brandon Carrillo, Melissa Lerma, Melinda Venzor, Andrea Hinojos, Leanna Hinojos, Caleb Hinojos, Ethan Hinojos, Myra Carrasco, Aaron Hinojos, Diego Mendoza & Salvador Lerma III. Twenty-four great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, and two great grand dogs Akalia and Lola.

He is preceded in death by his wife Elia, his parents Manuel and Severa, his brothers: Manuel, Jose, Beto, Ramon, Oscar, and his sister Maria Jesus.

A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday December 29, 2025, at 2pm- 5pm with a rosary at 7pm – 8:30pm at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be on Tuesday morning at 10am. officiated by Father Sergio Legaretta. The burial will follow at The Van Horn Cemetery.

The pallbearers serving are Ethan Hinojos, Caleb Hinojos, Diego Mendoza, Aaron Hinojos, Brandon Carrillo, and Myra Carrasco.
