Ascension “Chon” Mora

Ascension, “Chon,” Mora, age 81, passed away on March 2, 2022, in El Paso, Texas.  He was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico to Hipolito and Nazaria Mora on August 15, 1940.  Chon was a lifetime resident of Van Horn.  He enjoyed being around his friends and family and playing the guitar and singing.  He was a great son, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be missed.

Those left to cherish Chon’s memory are his sisters: Nina Apodaca, Maria Rodriguez, and his brothers: Ramon Mora, Jesus Mora and Isabel Mora.  

He is preceded in death by his parents Hipolito and Nazaria Mora.

A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Van Horn.  Officiated by Father Frank Hernandez.

Pallbearers serving were: Gabriel Apodaca, Isidro Mora, Isabel Mora Sr. Isabel Mora Jr., Jesse Apodaca and Jesus Mora.

Funeral services were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas
