Consuelo “Connie” Escobar, age 87, entered eternal paradise Saturday, November 28, 2020 in Odessa, Texas. She was born on March 29, 1933 to Jose and Ester Torres in Fabens, Texas. Connie was a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church whether she attended in Big Spring, Odessa or in her little town of Van Horn. She read her bible daily and prayed for all each day and if you sat with her long enough, she would tell you all about it. Connie had many passions in life, sewing was one of her favorite things to do. Every chance she had; she would make a blanket. There were so many things we learned from Granny, like her little secrets for making rice “you need to let it talk to you, she would say” to making her famous biscochos to her pumpkin empanadas. No one will ever make them like Granny’s. We will all miss this on our coming holidays, along with her feisty, outspoken but lovable self. Connie loved spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and an awesome great grandmother. She will be truly missed by everyone she touched.
Those left to cherish Connie’s memories are her sons: Victor Urias, Raul Urias, Alonso Urias, Lee Escobedo. Her daughters: Angela Samaniego and Eunice Escobar. She is also survived by her brothers: Carlos Torres, Pedro Torres, Ezequiel Torres, Bernardo Torres and her sisters Celia Carrasco, Eustacia Torres and Petrita Solis.
Connie was blessed with fifteen grandchildren: Araceli Urias, Edith Urias, Veronica Gonzales, Anthony Urias, Vida Wright, Amanda Morrow, Raul Urias Jr., Maria Urias, Kassandra Kaiser, Hunter, Lily, Atlee, Grip and Rush Escobar and Cielo Trevino and fifteen great grandchildren: Joe, Justin and Jason Alvarado, Amberli and Joseph Chavez, Avery Lou Gonzalez, Victoria and Raemond Pernell, Samuel and Milagro Wright, Charlie Dorton, Chayden, Acayah , Micaliy, and Andres Urias and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

“No quiero un funeral muy elegante. Yo quiero que todos esten en paz, Y vivan contentos sin ninguna pena. Ya no esten tristes. Queridos mios, los amo mucho. Y todavia vivan mas aya de la obscuridad y oren con fervor todo el tiempo. El dolor y la angustia han terminado. Lloren un poco porque se siente la separacion, pero siguen los caminos de Dios y nos veremos en el cielo”.
