Jose "Joey" Angel Gonzalez

Jose Angel (Joey) Gonzalez passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023.   He was born to Maria Florez and Jose Gonzalez on January 7, 1995, in Van Horn, Texas.  He was a caring son, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.  He left this world suddenly at the age of 28.  

Joey is preceded in death by his mother Maria Florez and brother Jose Luis Gonzalez.  Those left to cherish his memory are his father Jose Gonzalez, uncles, aunts, several cousins, and great cousins.  Joey loved his cousins, Ruben, Selina, Jeremy and Merissa, he spent most of the time with them just hanging out and jamming to music, he loved to dance. He was known for his good sense of humor and his contagious laughter among his family and friends.  Joey was always there to help with mechanic projects or any other help someone may have needed.  He was the type that would give his shirt off his back if someone needed it.  He was always giving gifts to friends and family.  Joey was well known in Van Horn and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on March 10, 2023 at the Van Horn Cemetery Gazebo at 11:00 am.  Pastor Don Parker will be officiating. The burial will follow at the family plot.  Pallbearers serving are Ruben Florez III, Jeremy Florez, Selena Florez, and Marissa Mendoza.  Honorary Pallbearers are Ozrea Florez and Clinton Flowers.
